Orange Juice

Ingredient

  • 8 to 10 large oranges

Optional

  • 1 inch organic ginger or turmeric root

Instruction

  1. Rinse orange well under running water and wipe dry.

With a Manual orange juicer

  1. Cut each orange horizontally to 2 halves.
  2. Place the cut orange over the reamer of your juicer and press down. If using a manual juicer, press and move it to and for to extract the juice. If using an electric juicer, just press down and hold the orange on the circulating reamer. it does the job of juicing automatically.
  3. Pour the juice to the serving glasses.

Using a slow juicer

  1. Peel and remove the white membranes and pith of the oranges. If the oranges are too large to fit in your juicer chute, chop them to smaller sizes.
  2. Turn on the slow juicer and add a few at a time, to the chute. You can also add in ginger/turmeric at his stage. You can also add any other fruit you wish to. 
  3.  Serve fresh orange juice immediately.

How to make orange juice in Blender

  1. Peel the oranges and remove the pith. Halve the oranges lengthwise. Make a deep cut in the center.
  2.  Using the edge of a small knife or a little fork, remove the seeds. Freeze your oranges for an hour if you prefer cold juice. 
  3. To a blender, add the oranges and the optional ingredient ginger/ turmeric. Pour some water to cover the oranges partially. (about 1⁄2 to 3⁄4 cup)
  4. Blend until smooth. Optionally place a strainer over a large bowl and pour the blended juice to the strainer.
  5.  Using a spoon, pass the juice through the sieve. Serve it immediately. If you want add a pinch of salt or little honey.

Use your pulp

  1. Freeze your pulp in ice tray and use them in your smoothies, chutney and dairy-free shakes.
