Air fryer onions

Ingredients

  • 1 white onion
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon of white sugar

Instructions

  1. Chop off both ends of your onion and peel away the skin.
  2. Cut the onion in half.
  3. Slice each half into semi-circle shapes, around 1/2 cm thick.
  4. Lightly dress the onions with your oil. Don’t add the sugar yet.
  5. Lay the onions in the air fryer basket, or underneath if you’re cooking other items at the same time.
  6. Air fry at 150C (300F) for 6 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  7. Add the sugar and mix well to ensure all the onions have a little coating.
  8. Air fry at 150C (300F) for another 8 minutes, stirring halfway through.
  9. If you want grilled caramelised style onions then you can remove them now.
  10. If you want very crispy onions then you can continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes, at 150C (300F), until they are super crispy.
