Ingredients
- 2 red apples – I suggest using red apples opposed to green. I used Honey Crisp. Other options are Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady and Jonagold.
- ½ tablespoon melted coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer. If your air fryer has a preheating option you can preheat your air fryer. If you don’t have that option, you can run the machine at 375 degrees F for 2-5 minutes. Leave the machine running for about 3 minutes for smaller air fryers. Leave the machine running for about 5 minutes for larger air fryers.
- Cut the two apples into about ½ inch slices.
- Add sliced apples to a bowl with coconut oil, pure maple syrup, vanilla, and spices. Combine until the apples are evenly coated.
- Place the apples in a single layer in your air fryer basket. I suggest making this recipe in two batches. Air fry the apples at 375 degrees F for 8-12 minutes, tossing halfway. Mine were perfect at 10 minutes.
- Serve the apples as you please! I served mine with Greek yogurt, chopped walnuts and a drizzle of honey.
Notes
- Use as much or as little of the spices as you would like. You can also use spice blends like apple pie spice or pumpkin pie spice.
- Refrigeration – Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
- Reheating – Reheat the apples in the air fryer at 325 degrees F until warm.
