Chocolate Cake in a Mug

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp. All-purpose Flour
  • 3 tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Cocoa Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
  • Tiny Pinch Of Salt
  • 3 tbsp. Whole Milk
  • 3 tbsp. Vegetable Oil
  • Splash Of Vanilla Extract
  • 3 tbsp. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Directions

  1. Into a 12-ounce microwave-safe mug, add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir with a fork. Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla and stir until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips. Use a damp paper towel to wipe excess off the sides of the mug.
  2. Microwave for 90 seconds, then let the cake stand for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes before eating. Serve with sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream!

  2. And that’s where this little mug treat comes in! If you haven’t yet discovered the Pinterest-friendly joy of whipping up a 90-second chocolate cake in a mug…well, your life is about to change.

  4. Throw 3 tablespoons of flour into a microwave-safe mug…
  5. Along with 3 tablespoons sugar…
  6. 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (not shown) and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.
  7. Oh! And a teeny tiny pinch of salt.
  8. Use a fork to stir it all together.
  9. Add 3 tablespoons of milk and 3 tablespoons vegetable oil…
  10. Along with a splash of vanilla…
  11. And stir it…
  12. Until it all comes together and you want to eat the batter.
  13. This is optional, but delicious! Stir in 3 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips.
  14. Then pop it in the microwave and nuke it for 90 seconds
  15. It definitely doesn’t look fancy. But oh, is it good!
  16. I took the liberty of whipping a little cream and plopping on a dollop.
  17. And I added sprinkles, too!
