Best Classic Bacon Cheeseburger Recipe
Ingredients
- 16 strips bacon
- 4 lb. ground beef
- 1/3 c. heavy cream
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 6 to 8 dashes hot sauce
- Vegetable oil, for the grill
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 3 Tbsp. tablespoons salted butter, softened
- 8 Kaiser rolls, split
- Iceberg lettuce, tomato slices, and dill pickle slices, for topping
Directions
- Preheat a grill to medium. Meanwhile, set a large skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, cook the bacon, turning occasionally, until crispy, 5 to 6 minutes. Remove to a paper towel–lined plate.
- Put the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and hot sauce. Mix the meat well with your hands. Form into 8 thin 7-inch-wide patties.
- Oil the grill grates. Grill the patties until charred, about 3 minutes per side for medium doneness; top each with a slice of cheese in the last 2 minutes of cooking.
Butter the rolls, then toast on the grill, about 1 minute
- Place the patties on the rolls and top each with a lettuce leaf, tomato slice, some pickle slices and 2 strips of bacon
