Red Picadillo Ground Beef Chili

Ingredients

  • tomatoes (ripe)
  • ancho chili pepper
  • chili pepper (Guajillo)
  • 1/4 onion
  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Clean the chili peppers, remove the stems and seeds, and place them in a pot of water with the tomatoes.
  2. Heat up the water (medium heat) and once the tomatoes and chili peppers are soft, remove them from the pot and place them in a blender.
  3. Mix together in the blender along with the onion and blend until everything is completely liquefied. If you like, you may also add salt and pepper.
  4. Pour the vegetable oil into a pan and cook the ground beef until it becomes a light brown color.
  5. Pour the sauce into the pan and cook everything for 10 minutes.
  6. Turn off the stove and serve.
